MEETING OF SPECIAL SESSION
 
OF SOMERVELL COUNTY
 
 
 
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
 
PURSUANT TO THE TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS ACT, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE   COMMISSIONERS’ COURT OF SOMERVELL COUNTY, TEXAS WILL BE HELD AT
9:30 A.M, MONDAY,  THE 16th  DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2009,
IN THE COMMISSIONERS’ COURTROOM IN THE SOMERVELL COUNTY COURTHOUSE ANNEX
107 N.E. VERNON
IN GLEN ROSE, TEXAS AT WHICH MEETING THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED AND THE FOLLOWING MATTERS ACTED UPON:
 
OPEN MEETING:
 
CITIZEN COMMENTS:  This is for citizens to comment on any subject not on the current agenda concerning county business.  Members of the Court may answer direct questions, but any action from this item must be scheduled on a future agenda.
 
 
1.     Move $5,000 from Rd Maint Property Insurance #430-410 to Rd Maint Prof Svcs #430-462.
 
2.    Move $400 from Cap Eq/Furn #450-570 to G/CL Eq/Furn #441-570.
 
3.    Move $6,000 from Rd Barn Heavy Eq Parts #430-354 to Vendor Auto/Eq Repair #430-451.
 
4.    Discuss/take action canvassing the November 3, 2009 Constitutional Amendment Election.
 
5.    Discuss/take action on EECBG Resolution.
 
6.    Discuss/take on Appointment of Replacement for Justice of the Peace-Precinct #1.
 
7.    Discuss/take action on Proposal from Teague Nall and Perkins for Preliminary Route Studies and Cost Estimates for Planning, Design, and Construction of a Bridge crossing of Paluxy River in Glen Rose, Texas.
 
8.    Discuss/take action on purchase of wiring for Courthouse Christmas tree.
 
9.    Discuss/take action declaring Block 3, Lot 2 in the Industrial Park as Surplus.
 
10.Approve Specs & Advertising for sale of Block 3, Lot 2 in the Industrial Park.
 
 
 
 
11.Executive Session:  Personnel Matters
After having convened in open session, the Commissioners Court will retire into executive session, pursuant to the provisions of Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code in order to discuss the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a  public officer or employee.
 
12. Discuss/take action on executive session: Personnel Matters.

Commissioners’ Court of Somervell County met in a special meeting at 9:30 a.m. on the above date with all Commissioners present. County Judge Walter Maynard presided.

DISCUSSION ON AGENDA ITEMS

 

ITEM NO.

 

6.     11. and 12. The Court recessed from Open Session and into Executive Session at 10:06 a.m., and reconvened into Open Session at 10:21 a.m. See motion 6.

 

 

MOTIONS ON AGENDA ITEMS

 

ITEM NO.

 

Motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to move

1.     5,000 from Rd Maint Property Insurance #430-410 to Rd Maint Prof Svcs #430-462.

2.     $400 from Cap Eq/Furn #450-570 to G/C Eq/Furn #441-570.

3.     $6,000 from Rd Barn Heavy Eq Parts #430-354 to Vendor Auto/Eq Repair #430-451.

Motion carried. All voting aye.

 

4.     Motion was made by Commissioner Wirt and seconded by Commissioner Barnard to approve the canvass of the November 3, 2009 Constitutional Amendment election.  Motion carried. All voting aye.  

5.     Motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to approve the EECBG Resolution, and authorize the Judge to sign.   Motion carried. All voting aye.

7.     Motion was made by Commissioner Wirt and seconded by Commissioner Ford to approve the proposal, not to exceed $5,000, from Teague Nall and Perkins for preliminary studies and cost estimates for the planning, design and construction of a bridge crossing of the Paluxy River in Glen Rose, and authorize the Judge to sign.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

8.     Motion was made by Commissioner Barnard and seconded by Commissioner Wirt to approve the purchase of wiring for the Courthouse Christmas tree at $368.48. Motion carried. All voting aye.

9.     Motion was made by Commissioner Cummings and seconded by Commissioner Ford to approve declaring Block 3, Lot 2 (6.15 acres) in the Industrial Park as surplus. Motion carried.  All voting aye.

10. Motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Wirt to approve advertising and specs for the sale of Block 3, Lot 2 in the Industrial Park; bids due at 5 p.m. on December 11, 2009, to be opened at 9:30 a.m. on December 14, 2009.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

6.     Motion was made by Commissioner Cummings and seconded by Commissioner Ford to approve appointing Ronnie Webb as Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 to complete the unexpired term of Kenneth Taylor. Motion carried. All voting aye.

 

 

 


 

 

There being no further business, motion was made by Commissioner Wirt and seconded by Commissioner Barnard to adjourn at 10:23 a.m.  Motion carried.  All voting aye.
