This is so cool. My Great-great Grandmother was Margaret Elizabeth Stephens-Whitener. Her brothers were Cliff and Cave. I hope to one day visit Stephensville and see the cave. The stories are true. Thank you so much!
That was my grandpa, William Adam Cave Stephen. He raised me until his death in 1953. He told me some stories about Panther Cave, but according to him his dog at the time was a mastiff, not a bulldog. He was born in 1875, so these days so many years later, who knows.
Hi to everyone that is connected to the Panther cave. My name is Ted Severns. My Great Grandfather is George Washington Cliff Stephen twin brother to William Adam Cave. I have been raised with the story of my Great, Great Grandfather, Madison (Matt) Hram Stephen (wagon and ox freight operator) and my Grandmother, Caroline Jennete Cooper. I am so pround that folks are visiting the cave and others who are spending their time to tell the story of these courageous pioneers. Thank you so very much. Ted
Panther Cave is on private property so it can't simply be visited without trespassing. When I recorded this, I did so because Mr Bussey, who has a Fossil Shop, had arranged for the tour. You might try calling him and seeing if he can put you with the property owners. http://glenrosefossilhunter.net/
