I have to think about this some more, I don't know that I like having taxpayer money going for a private-pubilc partnership for people to send their kids to pre-K.

What's to think about? Why are we paying for any private-public partnerships that are just day care centers ? Are they going to start classes for 3s and 2s next as in some foreign countries ? What happened to parenting ?

@somervellsally-I'm against PPPs. One reason is that I don't like our taxes going for projects that are managed by the private sector (such as the toll roads fiasco). The second is that the accountability is gone and I believe deliberately so. The reason I personally want to think about it some more, not that I'm going to agree with it passing, is that I'd like to understand why this was passed. For example, who is profitting from this? Are any of the Texas legislators going to profit by this? This came from somewhere. I do agree with you as well on parenting and pre-K. Philosophically, I'm fine with kids starting school in kindergarten or first grade and before that it does seem like taxpayer funded daycare.
