You can hear the entire meeting (audio) here. Following are some video clips that I either really liked or piqued my interest.

Dr Mike Davis on accountability and performance.

Tom Lounsberry on teacher evaluations

Discussion of TEKS tests and minimal qualifications. I particularly liked this question, from a parent, because it addressed the same concerns I have, that is, where excellent teaching runs into the brick wall of mandated tests.

with second part from Dr Davis on our standing in the world (I particularly liked this answer)

Kevin Taylor on teaching to the test and teacher/student ratios

Kevin Taylor on approaching the board vs chain of command vs policy (which the school board wrote)

Mikd Davis on picking up the phone and talking to board members.

Ms Ogletree's question seems to have been regarding a comment Tom Lounsberry made in an interview in the Glen Rose Reporter Newspaper for April 28 2009.

We have added more dual credit classes, more technology classes, and better ways for students to regain credit for classes they have had trouble with. The dual credit classes alone can help parents see a real savings on college costs, by getting that credit here at home. We have added, for instance, distance learning for those students who want to take a foreign language that we aren’t able to hire a teacher for.

And her question, with discussion regarding distance learning

P.S. My own feeling, of course, but I definitely like Dr Davis, thought his answers were not only good, and thoughtful, but also showed a warm concern for teachers and students.
