Huh? Should Texas judges be appointed instead of elected?

Apparently, in Texas we still are at the mercy of professional politicians who continue to work for their special interests instead of the majority of Texans.

The latest focus for these cueballs is, "Should Texas judges be appointed instead of elected?"

Appointed by whom?  The Governor?  Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!  Solution is simple.  Get rid of all campaign contributions for judges and lawmakers!  Let them run on their own merits.

You can read the story in the Austin American-Statesman HERE.

Does it ever end?

No, it doesn't!

1 - The Local Crank   20 Apr 2009 @ 10:46:55 PM  The current system is a disaster, allowing appeals courts and our two highest courts to be dominated by rightwing idealogues whose only "qualifications" are an R beside their names on the ballot. Local judges should continue to be elected, but on a non=partisan ballot. In major urban centers, the local judges should run out of districts, to better reflect their communities. Appeals Courts and the Supreme Court & Court of Crminal Appeals should be on an appointment-retention system where the governor picks names off a list prepared by a nonpartisan panel of lawyers and non-lawyers.
