but this is the silliest bill, besides maybe Sid Miller's shooting at feral hogs from helicopters, that's been out this year.

Under Sen. John Carona’s SB1539, nobody could be buried in Texas in a casket that does not contain the deceased’s name, date of birth and date of death.

The problem, according to Carona, R-Dallas, is caskets that float to the surface during floods, a common occurrence during Texas hurricanes.

“Not only does the casket float to the surface, but body parts and the contents of the casket become separated from the casket and there is no way to identify which casket belongs to which set of remains,” he said.

Shaking my head in amusement here. Does the Lege have Nothing Else To Do Because They Have Solved All Other Problems?
