I saw that T Boone Pickens was chosen as Texan of the Year by the TLC, and given the award by Rick Perry. From the New Braunfels Chamber, where the conference took place.

Texas Legislative Conference

T. Boone Pickens will be honored as the 43rd Texan of the Year at the Texas Legislative Conference set for Thursday and Friday, March 19 and 20. Governor Rick Perry will present the award to Pickens at a reception Thursday evening, March 19. Past recipients include President George W. John Sharp, former State Comptroller, will open the half-day conference on Friday, March 20 followed by informative panels on the economic outlook and impact on Texas, the state energy plan and a media pundits panel. Texas Speaker of the House Joe Straus will be the noon luncheon keynote speaker.
