On Meridian Manor-Looks Like Rose Beck Couldn't get the Financing (March 2009)

We went to Bosque County to watch what is happening with Meridian Manor. We had wondered, since the purchase of Meridian Manor had been pushed off so often, and Rose Beck apparently wasn't coming up with the money, what the upshot would be. Although it wasn't discussed for some reason at the board meeting, what happened is that Rose Beck did not come up with the financing, and looked for someone else to take over the potential contract. The board believes it has found such a person. Here's audio of that board meeting (which includes a discussion of insurance for employees-if you have a slow internet connection, best to right click and save to your hard drive to listen)  and a couple of video clips.

about the potential buyer.

I continue to believe that GRMC had something to do with the attempted purchase of Meridian Manor. I had heard that someone had applied for a job at Meridian Manor but the entity doing the hiring was HR at GRMC. Why, if there was no connection?

At the same time, I think the people on the hospital board are good people and are and were trying to do the best thing for the patients. The nursing home is a very nice one. So, I hope that the person who is considering purchasing it does so, and that the whole thing is on the up and up.
