Glen Rose has a great number of things to do or see - Big Rock Park, Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Somervell County Expo Center, Dinosaur Valley State Park, The Promise, Squaw Creek Golf Course, Tres Rios, Oakdale Park, and nearby, one of my favorite places, Rough Creek Lodge. To me, Glen Rose is the start of Hill Country.

Helping You Evacuate Safely! How Many Companies do YOU Know that Send you That info?

 

Sheesh. Got a glossy flyer in the mail today that announces a *Reception Center" in Benbrook, to be used if Comanche Peak requires an evacuation. That's in addition to *reception* centers in Cleburne and Stephenville. Luminant helpfully puts a clippable coupon on the back of the flyer so that you can let the Somervell County Sheriff's deparmtne know if you need to get the heck out during an evacuation. Like, you're disabled. Or you have no transporation. or something else. I agree with having the Sherifff's Department know if you have to get out. But why even have to ask this if nuclear power is truly safe? I mean, when I worked at other companies, we had fire drills but nothing was ever sent around about having to be evacuated because of a nuclear disaster of some sort.  I haven't seen, for example, any info sent out in case of, say a gas well explosion or a faux-clean coal disaster, or if the local restaurant has a health emergency.Nope. Just the nuclear power plant Nuclear Energy is NOT clean nor is it safe or this type of information wouldn't even be sent out.
